BI Project Manager SOW

  • Participates in developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Information Technology department; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures.
  • Leads in setting the direction for Business Intelligence adoption throughout the organization across all areas. Acts as an evangelist helping the organization to understand the value that can be gained from an investment in Business Intelligence.
  • Manages conflict and confusion effectively as it is encountered throughout the organization related to the enterprise adoption of BI.
  • Maintains a vision towards proper implementation of a Business Intelligence environment and the practices that are required to make the implementation successful.
  • Defines and implements best practice development standards as they relate to a BI-specific development methodology
  • Oversees architectural design sessions and sets the direction for tools and processes related to business intelligence
  • Establishes and manages code migration standards.
  • Drives successful issue resolutions related to project, resource, budget and organizational sponsorship.
  • Proactively manages complex project schedules and budgets, checking for scope changes and adjusting resources and deadlines accordingly.
  • Acts as an advocate for Forsythe’s business intelligence vision, framework, processes and methodologies
  • Assists the supported business area/service and acts as an IT liaison.
  • Develops strong working relationships with Business leaders across the company
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related experience.
  • Masters degree, a plus.
  • PMP Certification or other Project Management Methodology experience a plus.
  • ITIL Certification and experience or familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) a plus
  • Prior work experience in dimensional data modeling including development of database models and ETL integration
  • Prior work experience in report development from both relational as well as dimensional databases
  • Work experience in application integration, ideally with both internally hosted enterprise applications as well as external SaaS applications
  • Experience in a management role on a business intelligence team
  • Experience managing a data warehouse environment including, SQL Server environments with SSIS/SSRS
  • Understand the goals and business drivers of various business areas
  • Understand the business purpose of the technologies being used and articulate the vision of how BI technologies can and should be used .
  • Communicate effectively through all channels with executive leaders throughout the organization
  • Anticipate obstacles to success and be prepared to mitigate those risks.
  • Understand and apply project life cycle process to effectively manage through the complexities of the business solution
