Blueline's client, Major Manufacturer in Chicago is seeking the following:  
The IT Senior Business Analyst understands the strategic needs of the business and translates those into technical solutions, improved processes, and effective end-user training / communication by coordinating resources across the organization. This role also provides leadership, advice, and assistance from an IT and enterprise application perspective in business areas of finance, procurement, supply chain/manufacturing, order management, and human resources. The ideal candidate is able to Identify and evaluate solutions, assess fit / feasibility, and make recommendations that support business objectives and leverage existing IT resources while supporting existing IT application footprint and developing skills in line with IT strategic vision and roadmap.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB: (other duties may be assigned)
  1. Works directly with business leads to understand IT project-related strategy, processes, drivers, and needs and translates those into effective and efficient technical and functional designs.
  2. Builds relationships, acts as a liaison, and integrates activities with business and other IT resources to ensure successful communication, implementation, and support of project efforts.
  3. Deploys proven methodologies to plan projects / change requests, define business requirements, analyze business processes, design and/or evaluate solutions, plan and execute testing, deploy training, and deliver solutions on time while effectively managing scope, priorities, and timelines.
  4. Creates and manages project documentation including project charters / change requests (CRs), resource requirements, business requirements, business case, performance metrics, and project plans to ensure projects / CRs are delivered on time, on budget, and within customer expectations.
  5. Coordinates and leads team meetings to gather and organize project / CR business and technical requirements, establish budgets, timelines, issues, risks, dependencies, and constraints.
  6. Ensures compliance of solution designs with corporate policies, applicable regulations, business strategies, and technology directions.
  7. Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system designs are accurate and complete.
  8. Manages changes, coordinates / performs testing, verification, and validation of requirements
  9. Facilitates end-user training and communication to ensure solutions are effective and understood.
  10. Provides hands-on support for projects / change requests by owning issues and driving to resolution.
  11. Serves as a source of information to IT on the business drivers, processes, and organization structure and dynamics of multiple business areas to advance use of IT solutions and to drive business process improvement.
  • BS in Business, Computer Science or other related degree.
  • 5+ years experience in implementing, managing and supporting Oracle Financials solutions.
  • 2+ years integrating third-party applications with ERP solutions.
  • 2+ years experience in SQL, PL/SQL and other programming languages.
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge including key business and accounting processes, Oracle and third-party application configuration expertise, application development considerations, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of Oracle Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Purchasing.
  • Deep understanding of the business, industry, information systems, and emerging technologies and implications for the broader business environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of defining business and systems requirements, designing and developing functional and technical solutions, solution testing, end-user training, implementing post go-live support and operational procedures, including establishing/monitoring key SLA and KPI objectives.
  • Knowledge of or experience in other enterprise software programs, including Concur, Salesforce and/or Hyperion.
  • Proficiency in writing Oracle and SQL Reports.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing project activities across all phases of software development lifecycle.
  • Skilled at building teams, gaining consensus, forming decisions, and setting direction for cross-functional project teams across multiple levels of the organization to implement IT and business process solutions.
  • Learns quickly, grasps the key concepts, and adapts to change as needed.
  • Excellent at planning, organizing and coordinating resources.
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency, a focus on detail, and the ability to delegate effectively.
