Blueline is seeking talented Cisco Voice Engineers for consulting and full-time roles in Madison, WI.  
 Network Engineer - VoIP at Affinity Plus will take ownership of the management and monitoring of the credit union’s in-house unified communication system and its overall network infrastructure to provide an optimal experience over this medium. This person is responsible for ensuring that our voice over data is securely protected over this channel. The Network Engineer - VoIP is vital in recommending changes that minimize risk as well as mitigate threats and vulnerabilities in daily operations. This person will work closely with our Contact Center management to provide business application support, reporting and deliver on business requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing high levels of customer service when responding and resolving to issues that may be delivered via automated alerting, phone, email or direct contact
  • Maintaining Quality of Service on the VoIP channel and complete fault resolution on reported issues
  • Delivering on all tasks with a high degree of accuracy and according to established schedules
  • Completing VoIP and analog telephony configuration and maintenance (examples include punch downs to equipment; VOIP phone and gateway builds and troubleshooting)
  • Managing VoIP related projects; identifying and recommending opportunities for upgrades
  • Conducting changes to IPCCX scripts as required by the organization, partnering with and managing third party vendor relationship as needed
  • Completing configuration and setup for new branch locations and branch moves
  • Providing training and mentoring to technical support team with VoIP troubleshooting, upgrading and overall knowledge
  • Documenting system changes and ensuring configuration documents are updated with each change
  • Partnering with geographically appropriate telecom companies to address outages and technical issues, order new or additional phone lines as needed and maintain integrity in the vendor relationship
  • Monitoring SIP circuit usage and trunk capacity levels to ensure members are being routed to the appropriate places in a timely and accurate manner
  • Completing all other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Minimum 2 years implementing/supporting VoIP technologies is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ progressive experience networking in the TCP/IP LAN/WAN environment; wireless desired
  • Cisco CCNA Voice or CCNA Collaboration certification is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge with Cisco CUCM, UCS, IPCCX, Unity Voice Messaging Systems, and Cisco router as well as Adtran configurations
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Active Directory, VMware, networking and Unix / Linux Systems to be able to support various Unified Communications Components
  • Networking system concepts with knowledge in the following: multiservice/network design; LAN/WAN protocols such as MPLS, BGP and SIP; network tools such as protocol analyzers; network security; UNIX/NT/W2K OS; and Nagios.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with an ability to follow through with diligence and persistence
  • Excellent technical documentation skills as well as an ability to mentor team members
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and in person, and the ability to explain technical matters in an easy to understand fashion
  • Proven record of meeting on-time delivery and quality requirements
  • Ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision; self-directed and self-motivated
  • Must be proficient in managing vendors, executing on projects, and getting solid results while building the knowledge and expertise of the team
Required Work Schedule: Regular Monday through Friday business hours with a willingness to work nights and weekends as needed for upgrades, equipment replacement, branch moves, etc.
